Hood Community&nbsp;College and did inquire about joining a club.&nbsp; I was told that the meetings were&nbsp;in the evening on the third Thursday&nbsp;(or something like that) of each month.&nbsp; I mentioned that I worked nights&nbsp;and was told that there was no point in joining if&nbsp;I couldn't attend meetings.&nbsp;&nbsp;And I<EM> </EM>thought that&nbsp;going on digs and exchanging information <EM>was</EM> the whole&nbsp;point.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ignorance is bliss I guess&nbsp;- <EM>meetings</EM> were the most important thing.&nbsp; Well anyway, I've been collecting for over 40 years and have lots of experience in the hobby, what does a rock club need with me?&nbsp;&nbsp;The only thing is that rock clubs often times have access to areas that may be off limits to the general public,&nbsp;hold the claim to certain collecting&nbsp;spots,&nbsp;and/or have up-to-date info on&nbsp;material availability at popular sites.&nbsp; So,&nbsp;what is your favorite material to collect and do you have a favorite collecting area?<BR><BR>Steve&nbsp;</FONT>http://blog.stevesrockshopandmiscellany.com/2008/08/18/hello-and-welcome.aspx#comment-1375625Fri, 19 Sep 2008 05:46:04 GMThttp://blog.stevesrockshopandmiscellany.com/2008/08/18/hello-and-welcome.aspx#comment-1371325JackHey Steve,<br /><br />Nice intro, covered a lot of information quite nicely.<br /><br />Do you belong to any local rockhound clubs?
